Christine Sommervill

C. Z. Somervill,
AAUA President

Welcome to the American association of University Administrators new website and home of the dynamic professional networking association for administrators in higher education.

We invite you to join us for the thirty ninth assembly at our nation’s capital - Washington D.C.  We have chosen to return to the DC Metropolitan area again following a very successful gathering last year in Arlington, Virginia. It will be exciting to host you in this historic and vibrant city.

This year’s theme is “Defining Quality in Higher Education:  our Missions and Visions.”  We’ve chosen the theme based upon our shared experience that the strength of our institutions depends on others’ understanding how we accomplish our goals and commitments.

We seek to provide the best higher education to students around the world.  Our institutions are places where life’s dreams are born and pursued.   So, we believe that we must set our goals exceptionally high.  We plan to make this year’s assembly a focus on the many ways that we are demonstrating quality and fulfilling our education, research and services missions.

This year we are fortunate to have a distinguished line-up of participants. Please take a few minutes to review the schedule of speakers that have, so far, been confirmed.   As is our tradition we will also enjoy time for professional networking, a cultural evening and the exciting awards luncheon with current research and exemplary models in higher education.

We look forward to seeing you in Washington D.C. this November.
